Reporting a correction
A focused report makes it easier to identify whether the issue concerns a genuine reference specification, a replica description or an observation of one watch. Include:
- The article URL and section heading.
- The exact statement you believe needs correction.
- The model reference, movement version or document revision involved.
- The supporting document, or a dated description of what you observed.
- The change you believe would make the statement accurate.
For example, a power-reserve correction should identify the calibre and the document date; a measured result should also describe winding and test conditions. An unspecified calibre name or an isolated product photo may leave the point unresolved.
Questions about a particular watch
These guides cannot establish an order's status, approve a return for another business or identify every mechanism from a dial photograph. For an order, contact the business that accepted it. For a mechanical problem, an independent watchmaker who accepts the watch can assess its actual condition.
The FAQ answers common questions about reference specifications and inspection. The inspection record helps organise the evidence for a mismatch.
What an editorial report can establish
A report is information for checking a published statement. It does not itself establish a specification or guarantee a change. The editorial policy explains the distinction between a correction, a clarified qualification and an unresolved claim.
